Capital Region Land Conservancy

Incorporated in Virginia in March 2005 as a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, Capital Region Land Conservancy was created to fill a void in natural resource conservation in the Richmond area. At CRLC we educate landowners about voluntary land protection tools, facilitate the process of donating conservation easements, and hold conservation easements in perpetuity. CRLC uses a cooperative approach to conservation that balances economic growth with natural resource protection by promoting voluntary land protection and strategic land acquisition to support implementation of local comprehensive plans. CRLC is operated by its 16-member board of directors, its 9-member advisory council, a full-time Executive Director and four staff members. The board meets monthly from September until May. The president of the board of directors oversees the Executive Director. We are a well-respected, dependable, and responsive team dedicated to the communities we serve.
